Protection IC with integrated MOSFET designed for one-cell lithium-ion battery applications enables a smaller total system solution with fewer external components

 

BEIJING, China – Sept.24, 2015 – ON Semiconductor (Nasdaq:ON), driving energy efficient innovations, today announced that its 2-in-1 battery protection IC, the LC05132NC01MTTTG, has won a “Top 10 Power Product” Award in an annual award program organized by Electronic Products China and 21ic.com.

The annual Top 10 Power Products Award program is one benchmark in identifying high-quality products for the electronics industry. It recognizes a range of power products which undergo a strict evaluation and recommendation process by an expert judging panel. The products are measured against three principal criteria: design innovation, price-performance and technological advancement.

“The award recognizes the non-stop innovation spirit of ON Semiconductor,” said Ikuya Kawasaki, general manager of Intelligent Power Solution Division at ON Semiconductor. “It also echoes the ability of our battery protection IC to offer best-in-class voltage and current detection accuracy.”

The award-winning LC05132NC01MTTTG integrates highly accurate detection and detection delay circuits to prevent batteries from over-charging, over-discharging, over-current discharging and over-current charging. This IC also features a temperature compensation circuit and integrates a reset circuit for cutting off the integrated MOSFET when the reset pin is triggered. All features of the device enable smart phone, tablet and wearable device designer engineers to add an important safety layer to their designs easily.

Available in a small 2.6 mm x 4.0 mm dual flat no-lead (DFN) package, the protection IC requires fewer external components than the competition and enables a smaller total system solution.
