Featuring a full 1 amp of output, RECOMs new R-78E-1.0 switching regulator module expands the power range of the low cost/high efficiency R-78E series – a new series of switching regulators designed to offer all the advantages of a standard switching regulator (high efficiency, wide input range, accurate output voltage regulation) but at a lower cost.

 

Like its 0.5 amp counterpart, the R-78E-1.0 carries short circuit protection. Measuring only 11.6 x 8.5 x 10.4 mm, its compact TO-220-compatible SIP3 package saves valuable board space, and with efficiencies of up to 91%, this higher power version of the R-78E still does not require a heat sink.
With an available input range of 8 to 28V, and a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, the R-78E-1.0 is flexible enough to handle everything from battery operated systems, controls and sensors, positioning systems, and robotics, to medical-grade applications, cooling systems and fans, telecommunications, and highly sensitive measurement equipment.
